| Growing up in Cameroon, a relatively small country in West Africa, my siblings and I would walk miles to fetch water from the stream. We usually had to walk through unpaved forest roads in search of cleaner sources of water. The walks were very long, causing us to miss class on some days and/or making my parents late to work. Then, we would sometimes boil the water to kill germs. Other times, we just let the dirt settle at the bottom of the jug then drink top, especially when we were in a hurry.
Today, we are fortunate to no longer have to worry about the quality of our drinking water and life in general. The same, unfortunately, cannot be said for millions of children back home in Africa.
So who are we? We are people who grew up under similar conditions, but want to make things better for today's children.
|
Our goal is to dig wells and boreholes in these areas so that the people can have access to clean drinking water without having to walk half a day for dirty water or without having to rely on rain which is especially scarce in the dry season. We will also implement water purification methods so as to make sure the water is safe for drinking at any given point, even if stored for longer periods of time. Pledge you support now and save a life, save a generation. Support International - with the your support and that of other organizations will also seek to increase efforts to provide humanitarian aid to the Millions of displaced civilians in war torn areas such as Darfur-Sudan, DRC, Liberia, and other countries all over the world experiencing extreme poverty and suffering from the global water crisis. Support International raises public awareness about the issues of global water crisis, poverty, hunger, and disease world's poorest countries. We believe that with your help we can provide basic needs like clean water that would transform the futures and hopes of an entire generation. |
Our goal is to ensure that people like you who strive to alleviate poverty, suffering and oppression have a means of making a difference by helping provide clean water to the over one billions of people who are in dire need in the global community. Every person should join the fight. Although our goal seems robust, we believe that we can make a significant and much needed difference in this radical source of life by getting you to join us with your pledge and support. |
