| Water Supply The war in Darfur has left many villages in shambles. Water supplies have been poisoned. The shortage of clean water has led wide spread diseases, forcing many to flee to refugee camps, making an already bad refugee problem worse. For most villages in Darfur, the sources of water are from surface lakes which are full during the rainy season in August and September. These lakes are no longer a dependable source of water because of the drought and waste from other natural and animal contaminants. |
